Bwindi Women’s Lodge

The Bwindi Women’s Lodge (Not actual name) but rather popularly known by the project name “Ride for a woman” is located in Buhoma Sector approximately 5 minutes drive to the gorilla trekking briefing point (also the headquarters) of Bwindi Impenetrable forest National Park.  Managed by an enthusiastic local couple ( Eve & Denis) the Bwindi women’s Lodge was started up to provide training opportunity to the local vulnerable women in the buhoma community. The Lodge currently employes quite a number of locals from the community whose role is to deliver a hospitable environment to all the guests that choose to stay at the magnificent Bwindi Women’s Lodge.

STAYING AT THE BWINDI WOMEN’S LODGE – What to Expect.

The Bwindi Women’s Lodge delivers affordable accommodation for travellers visiting Buhoma Sector of Bwindi Forest NP. The Property has two (02) structures; Mwebesa House, and the newly opened Noels Cottages.

Mwebesa House offers eight (08) comfortable en-suite rooms each furnished with locally sourced materials and decor made onsite by the creative hands of the women of the project (ride for a woman).

On the other hand, the newly opened Noels Cottage block offers three (03) individual spacious rooms equally colourfully as decorated as the Mwebesa House rooms and with fairly larger bathrooms and large doors to an open-air balcony with cosy seating.

Whether you choose to stay in the Newly opened Noel or the older Mwebesa rooms, one thing that cuts across is to expect to be treated to very tasty organic food freshly picked from the garden a prepared the same day. All meals will be served at the central dining space that also doubles up as an open-air lounge with Wifi connection.

While the this Lodge ( Ride for a Woman Lodge) is not a five-star property we like to encourage visitors to stay at this lodge for the cause.

All fees and payment made towards your stay at this lodge are directly ploughed into supporting and empowering women in buhoma and Uganda at large.
