Mount Gahinga Lodge
Mount Gahinga Lodge is located on the edge of Mgahinga which is Uganda’s smallest national park (33Sq.Km/13Sq.mi). The eco-friendly lodge is an ideal base from which to track mountain gorillas and golden monkeys or climb to the top of one of the dramatic Virunga peaks.
Mount Gahinga lodge can also double up as a base to track gorillas in Nkuringo or Rushaga regions of Bwindi Forest (1.5-hours drive) incase the gorillas in Mgahinga choose to migrate to Rwanda or DR. Congo – they are quite unpredicatable.
The lodge has a lovely sunroom overlooking the volcanoes and pretty gardens. The food is freshly prepared, wholesome meals, combining local cuisine and western dishes all served in the homely dining room.
While the lodges dinning theme is “Communal dinning“, private dinning can be arranged on request.

While there is Wi-Fi provided in the main lodge area of Mount gahinga lodge, kindly note that there is limited connection largely affected by geopgraphical location of the lodge.
Child care
Although there are no specific child care facilities, children are most welcome. Food and meal times can be adjusted to suit younger guests, and babysitting can easily be arranged for those that need it for EXTRA. However, it should be noted that children under the age of 15 are not permitted to visit the gorillas.

Accommodation at the Mounta Gahinga Lodge
Guests at Mount Gahinga Lodge are accommodated in nine (09) comfortable stone and tiled, thatched cottages. Each has an ensuite bathroom with hot and cold running shower and a flush loo and offers stunning views towards the Virunga Volcanoes.

How to get there
- From Entebbe, Volcanoes Mount Gahinga Lodge is 9-hours drive on an all weather paved road. However the last section between Kisoro and the lodge is 15km of rocky surface that could last you upto 45 minutes from Kisoro.
- If the budget allows, a domestic flight from Entebbe will only last 1.5-hour.
- Take an international flight into Kigali Airport, followed by a 5 hour drive from Kigali to the lodge.
