Uganda Slashes Gorilla Permit Fees from USD700 to $400

Uganda has reduced its gorilla permit prices for the period starting 01st, December 2020 till 31st, March 2021. Uganda Slashes Gorilla Permit Fees

Uganda Gorilla permits fees are as follows: Uganda Slashes Gorilla Permit Fees

USD400 – for international non -resident tourists.
USD300 – for Foreign residents living and working in East Africa.
UGX150,000 – for East African citizens including those living outside East Africa but a duly registered Citizens.

Important Note regarding Discounted Gorilla Permits

The above-mentioned fees are only applicable for permits purchased between 1st December 2020 to 31st March 2021.
The discounted fees only apply for gorilla trekking, not gorilla habituation.

Chimpanzee Permits in Uganda have also been discounted, and now cost USD150 per person for international tourists, USD100 per person for foreign residents including ex-pats living and working in East Africa, and UGX100,000 per person for East African citizens including those living and working in the diaspora

In addition to the Discounted Gorilla & Chimpanzee permits, the Uganda wildlife Authority – UWA has further also offered a great 50% discount on entry fees into a couple of National Parks and wildlife reserves; Queen Elizabeth, Kidepo Valley, Murchison Falls, Semuliki National Park, Lake Mburo, Toro Semliki, Katonga, Kabwoya, and Pian Upe Wildlife Reserves. The 50% discount on park entry fees merged with the great discount on Gorilla & chimpanzee permits mentioned above means that tourists can visit and enjoy an affordable Uganda safari. In other words, travellers can combine gorilla trekking with chimpanzee tracking, and wildlife safaris to Murchison Falls National Park or Uganda’s remotest safari park – Kidepo Valley National Park – where they can enjoy a true wilderness safari searching for the elusive leopards & lions that roam the park.
